Sure, why not? I prefer satin finish myself thoughIs it okay to paint the whole house semi-gloss?
yes that would be very attractive..
no because dirt will show up easier. use a flat in the rooms and hallways and a eggshell in the bathrooms/kitchen. if you do decide to use semi gloss i suggest you youtube how to paint a wall. theres more to it than you think try using the ';m'; painting method and filling it in. if you dont do this right the mistakes will clearly show up with semi gloss as opposed to flat paint.
I think it's a matter of personal choice. I hate flat paint; it looks dead and is impossible to get dirt marks off!
I usually use gloss or semi-gloss on the woodwork and satin on the walls. We have an old house and the walls aren't always perfectly smooth. A semi-gloss makes the imperfections stand out more. A satin will still have a little light reflecting sheen to it, be nearly as scrubbable as semi-gloss but still hide those irregularities.
But when painting with a product that is semi-gloss or satin you need to be sure to roll it all the same way or you can end up with roller marks much easier than with flat. What I do is paint an area, let's say 4' and then take the roller and roll the entire section down from ceiling to floor lightly. This helps put the paint all in the same direction so to speak. And don't freak if the wall seems streaky at first. It takes longer for paints with gloss in them to blend out. I've used paints that it took a week.
And the ';keeping a wet edge'; is more important with this type of paint also. Helps the sections blend into each other better.
It's fine. But you may not be happy with the results. Imperfections of the walls will be more obvious that with a lower sheen paint.
Take a look at some satin sheen. Almost the same, and is still washable.
Yes, because it doesn't mark up like flat paints do and it's much easier to clean off. Flat paints also get dirty and it's next to impossible to clean off without taking some of the paint off.
try flat finish or satin finish as they have less lustre than semi-gloss.
yes and it is very practical as it wipes off easily.flat won't wipe off it's horrible.
Yes, I use semi-gloss inside and it works well. White looks better if it is flat as well as eggshell or beige. But colors look better in semi-gloss and as someone else said they are easier to clean.
Yes it's ok to do that.
