Yes and it produces the best looking finish compared to a paint roller or brush, both of which leave some marks on the finished product. Just be sure you are using a mechanical sprayer and not SRAY cans of paint. Sure you can. Sand lightly first and then prime any bare spots. Also, don't put latex over oil and vice versa.
